amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention and treatment education. Elizabeth Taylor created the foundation in 1985 with the help of two Doctors Mathilde Krim and Michael Gottlieb.
Fundraising events are annually organized all around the world. 140 million have been collected since its creation including 35 million in 2014! The organization has also awarded more than 3,300 grants to research teams worldwide.
Last night, May 21, 2015 was held the "Cinema Against AIDS 22" at the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in Cap d'Antibes, South of France. This event is held during the Cannes Film Festival. Numerous celebrities attended the gala dinner including Diane Kruger, Milla Jovovich, Jake Gylenhaal, Aishwarya Rai, Carine Roitfeld and Lewis Hamilton. The rock band Imagine Dragons and the singers Mary J Blige and Charli XCX also performed during the night.
