Paris is the last top of the "big four". From Tuesday, September 25th to Tuesday, October 3rd, 2018 brands such as Miu Miu, Celine, Agnès b, Louis Vuitton, Jacquemus, Chloé, Balmain, Elie Saab, Paul and Joe, Haider Ackermann, Isabel Marant, Off-white, Sonia Rykiel presented their Spring/Summer 2019 collections to the media, fashion editors, buyers and personalities.
The French fashion industry keeps getting better and better in terms of revenues. This constant improvement enables brands to increase their production budget. To give you a few examples, Chanel created an artificial beach inside Le Grand Palais. A lot of small details caught my attention. People were seated on wood benches. Models walked nonchalantly with their shoes in their hands. They selected music from the sixties/seventies such as Brigitte Bardot to add a summery vibe. You could even hear the sound of waves and seagulls. That was really nice.
Saint Laurent Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello created a runway around the Trocadero (near the Eiffel Tower). They planted palm trees and added a little bit of water on the runway to create a mirror effect of the Iron Lady. That was by far my favorite show in terms of scenography. I described only two shows because otherwise this post would never end. Feel free to check out Off-White, Louis Vuitton and Dior shows. They were also very creative.
In this street style selection you will see a lot of oversized blazers, suits, full-length trench coats, midi skirts, tartan prints, cowboy boots, fanny packs and designer handbags (mostly Fendi, Gucci and Dior).
