Fashion month is finally here so let's start with New-York City. Tom Ford opened the week on February 6, 2019 and Marc Jacobs closed it on February 13, 2019. Most of the shows took place at Spring Studios (50 Varick Street).
Over 80 emerging and well-known designers including Noon by Noor, Rebecca Minkoff, Michael Kors, Dion Lee, Laquan Smith, Naeem Khan, Chromat, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Nicole Miller, Self Portrait, Christian Siriano, Prabal Gurung and Zimmermann presented their Fall/Winter 2019 collections to the industry.
More and more brands start to broadcast their shows directly on Instagram or their websites. That was the case of Tibi. I think it's an effective way to connect with regular customers, potential buyers and fans of the brand at the same time. Plus, some brands even allowed cameras backstage, it's always interesting to see what's going on behind the scenes.
In this street style selection, you will see a lot of colorful puffer jackets, cream teddy bear coats and ankle length trench coats. Snake boots, top handle designer bags and tartan prints are everywhere.
Oversized suits and midi skirts paired with knee-high boots are the biggest trends spotted on and off the runway this season. If you want to create an androgynous look, you can try the oversized suit. The loose fit will give you a masculine silhouette. You can go even further by pairing it with white ugly dad shoes to break the formal look. On the other hand, if you're going for a more feminine look, you can style the midi skirt with knee-high boots. This is the perfect combo for a fresh and elegant look. Either way, you can't go wrong.
In the past few months, I have noticed another fashion trend. Apparently, you're supposed to tuck your pantsuit into cowboy boots. I can't wrap my head around this combination but to each his own. To me, it's one of those looks you can only pull off during fashion weeks.
