It's been a while since my last fashion week post. We're a few weeks away from fashion month. I can't wait to see the next big trends from all around the world.
I just heard that there will be no Stockholm Fashion Week this year. The bi-annual event was initially scheduled for the end of the month but it has been cancel by the Swedish Coucil. “Steeping away from the conventional fashion week has been difficult, but much considered decision. By doing this we can adapt to new demands, reach sustainability goals and be able to set new standards for fashion” said Jennie Rosén, CEO of the Swedish Fashion Council. The new strategy will be revealed at the end of the year.
Now let's go back to Copenhagen Fashion Week. From Monday, August 5, 2019 to Friday, August 9, 2019, more than 40 designers such as Rotate by Birger Christensen, Ganni, Brøgger, Baum und Pferdgarten, Hofmann Copenhagen, Lovechild 1979, Helmstedt, Rotate, Freya Dalsjö, Holzweiler, Cecilie Bahnsen, Samsøe & Samsøe and Soeren Le Schmidt showcased their spring/summer 2020 collections to the media, buyers, fashion directors, editors and personalities.
This street style selection is quite diverse and colorful. Some show-goers opted for maxi dresses and power suits while others chose more laid-back looks such as t-shirts and biker shorts, oversized blazers and mom jeans or sweaters and satin midi skirts. You will also see two of the biggest trends of the season which are blouses with organza and balloon sleeves.
In terms of accessories, I have spotted lots of micro bags and oversized clutches. As for shoes, you will see the usual ugly dad shoes and a lot of mules and strappy kitten heels.
Scroll down to see some of the most inspiring looks from Copenhagen Fashion Week S/S 20.
