How to create a comfy thrifted look for the office

Good afternoon,

When I put together an outfit, comfort is my main priority. I always plan it the night before because I don’t like wasting time in the morning. Sometimes, I don’t have the time nor energy to think about it that’s why it’s important to have good wardrobe staples. It took me less than five minutes to come up with this monochrome look.

This long sleeve maxi dress is one of my best options for lazy mornings. It's comfortable, super easy to throw on and pairs well with any look. The relaxed-fit is perfect for layering. Since I’m very sensitive to the cold, I added a long sleeve shirt and thermal leggings underneath. I already know I’m going to wear this timeless and sophisticated piece over and over again. I thrifted it last July for 6 euros. I threw on a men’s blazer to add a little bit of structure to the voluminous silhouette. I usually wear boxy jackets but I really liked the fit of this one. I bought it on Vinted last spring for 5 euros.

If I was just meeting-up with friends, I would have styled the flowy dress with sneakers. Since it’s an office look, I wanted to wear something more polished so I opted for a pair of black knee-high boots. I found them in a Parisian thrift store and to my surprise, they were brand new and made in Italy. I really wondered why someone would sell them. I tried them on and I understood why. The boots were a little bit tight around the ankles. As you can see that didn’t stop me from buying them. 2,85€, yes you heard that right. I couldn’t believe it myself! I have been wearing them almost every day and they fit me perfectly now. I love how the square toe shape adds a modern touch to the classic silhouette. It’s most definitely one of my best thrift store finds of the year.

To break up the all-black look, I decided to inject a pop of color with a turquoise tote bag. It’s the perfect size for me, not too big not too small. The outer pocket is very practical. I use it to store my metro card and anti-bacterial gel. Lastly, I completed my outfit with a set of silver rings. I bought them at the flea market for 3 euros. I added another pop of color with my green nail polish.

Paris is a beautiful city but it's also known as the "pickpocket city". Here are a few tips that might be helpful while visiting. Don’t put your wallet in your back pocket. Sometimes, tourists are so excited to discover the city that they don't really pay attention to their personal belongings.

Don't keep your phone in your hands when you're in the metro because thieves wait until the doors are about to close to snatch it. The best accessory when sightseeing is probably the cellphone lanyard with adjustable and detachable strap.

Lastly, if you are going to visit all day, you should probably opt for a crossbody bag or a fanny pack. If you keep all that in mind, you will be able to enjoy the city without worrying about anything!
