Good afternoon,
Before starting my fashion post, I wanted to talk about a serious topic. The past few weeks have been mentally and emotionally draining for a lot of people, myself included. A black man named George Floyd died in Minneapolis, Minnesota after a white police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes. His last words were: "I can't breathe". Protesters from around the world took a stand against systemic racism and police brutality.
From what I've seen on social media, some people have a hard understanding the Black Lives Matter movement. Black Lives Matter doesn't mean that any other lives don't matter. It's just that at the moment, too many black lives have been lost because of racial discrimination. That's why we can't turn a blind eye on such an important issue.
I'm trying to do my part by donating to different charity funds and fill out petitions such as justice for George Floyd, I run with Ahmaud and justice for Breanna Taylor. Racism is not a trendy topic so let's not forget about it in a couple months.
On a lighter note, I've decided to add a new category on the blog which is thrifted outfits. I'm trying to change my behavior as a consumer by shopping more responsably and ethically. I love the idea of giving clothes a second life. If you're looking for super affordable and unique pieces, you should definitely try thrift shopping.
This look was shot in the central business district of Paris. I particularly like this area because the architecture is very futuristic. It's extremely crowded during the week but exceptionally quiet on Sundays.
My outfit is very minimalist. It's a balance between cool and comfortable. I think I already have two black blazers but I couldn't resist when I found this one. I fell in love with the menswear fit and boxy shoulders. It only cost me 5 euros! Since I was really going for an effortless look, I decided to style it with a beige ankle length pants. It's very similar to the Dickies pants. The fabric is very thick. I found it in a different store but the price was the same (5€). To add a touch of femininity to this boyish look, I'm wearing a ribbed crop top from H&M. If I'm correct, it cost me 7€. Lastly, I'm wearing go-to chunky sneakers from Amazon and a clear tote bag from Aliexpress.
