Over the years, Milan fashion week has become my favorite fashion event out of the Big Four (New-York, London, Milan and Paris). Each city has a different feeling and in my opinion, Italian fashion is synonymous of luxury, modernity, femininity and elegance.
An exciting announcement was made during the week. Miuccia Prada and her chief executive, Patrizio Bertelli appointed Raf Simons, former creative director of Calvin Klein as co-creative director of Prada. I can't wait to see what the collection is going to look like. Their first show will be held in September 2O2O.
This season's shows started on Tuesday, February 18 until Monday, February 24, 2020. Italian design houses such as Alberta Ferretti, Marni, Emporio Armani, Brognano, Max Mara, Salvatore Ferragamo, Sportmax, Etro, Agnona, Versace, Moncler, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Missoni, Alexandra Moura, Prada revealed their Fall/Winter 2020 collections to the fashion industry.
In this street style selection you will find a lot of oversized suits, maxi dresses paired with boxy blazers, bermudas, leather culottes and leather trench coats. Showgoers styled their outfits with top accessory trends such as tiny bags, round top handle bags and oversized clutches. Other fashion accessories were captured by fashion photographers during the week. This includes tinted lenses, cat eye sunglasses, gold jewelry, bucket and baker boy hats. Lastly, you will barely see any thigh high boots but more surprisingly, you will see many street stylers wearing heeled sandals despite the chilly weather.
